So you’re getting married! (yay!!) And eloping (yay, again!!!) But now you’re trying to figure out: what are the best months to elope in Florida. Well, you’re definitely not alone. And as a FL elopement photographer, I can promise you there is no “wrong” answer. But I definitely want you to have all the information you need to set yourself up for the day of your dreams.

The truth is: Florida is beautiful all year, but every season feels a little different.
Some months are calm and cozy. Some are hot and tropical.
Picking the right time of year to elope here means finding the one that fits the kind of day you want. Whether you're dreaming of a peaceful sunrise on the beach or a warm evening tucked into a garden, Florida has a season for that.
So let’s talk about it!
What are the best months to elope in Florida:

The Sweet Spot Months
If you want that perfect balance of comfortable weather, beautiful light, and fewer crowds, April, May, November, and December are the standouts.
April is forever a favorite month of mine.
The weather is warm, but not too hot. The skies are usually clear. Spring break is over. Most seasonal visitors have headed home, so everything is a little quieter but we still have amazing weather.
May is also one of my personal favorites.
It is warm and sunny, but summer humidity has not fully arrived yet. (A real factor!) Beaches and parks feel more peaceful, and kiddos are still in school.
November is another hidden gem.
Hurricane season is mostly behind us. The weather is soft and comfortable. Crowds stay lighter right before the holidays begin.
December is another underrated month in Florida!
It’s cool and calm. It is perfect for couples who want their day to feel cozy and intimate.

So when you’re figuring out the best months to elope in Florida here’s a cheat sheet:
If you hate heat, choose January through April.
If you love warm, tropical weather, choose May through August.
If you want a quiet, intimate feel, late Fall is your time.
If you want the easiest mix of weather, comfort, and fewer crowds, April and November are awesome.
Here’s my full take on each month:
January: Quiet, calm, cooler. It’s ideal for peaceful beach elopements, but can be very chilly.
February: Slightly warmer, still usually comfortable, but can be very chilly so you need to be okay with a cold day. It’s got a great golden hour though!
March: One of the busiest tourist months with spring break crowds and pre-season baseball. Buuuut, the weather is often perfect!
April: Arguably the sweet spot!! Warm, dry, beautiful light. Most seasonal residents (snowbirds) have returned home.
May: Warmer, but still manageable. It’s great before summer humidity peaks.
June: Start of summer heat + storms. Sunrise elopements really shine this time of year. (Here’s an example!)
July: Hot + humid. I really recommend scheduling more indoors or early morning at the height of Summer.
August: Similar to July. But since there are lower demands for weddings = more flexibility and budget friendly options for venues.
September: Quiet but peak hurricane season. So it’s best if you don’t mind being flexible!
October: Slight relief from heat, but you’re still running into a possible storm risk here.
November: Your hidden gem month!!! Comfortable + less crowded. The weather is amazing. Truly underrated time to elope in FL!
December: Great for intimate, cozy vibes. Coffee shop ceremonies or Airbnb receptions, with a long stroll on the beach in golden hour.

My Honest Recommendation
If I had to choose, I would always lean toward April, May and November. These months feel relaxed, comfortable, and a little less hectic. It leaves the focus on you & your partner, while also getting to enjoy (in my opinion) the best weather Florida has to offer.
For most couples, those elements are what makes the best months to elope in Florida those transitional months of the year.
