Are you thinking about eloping? Can I let you in on a secret? Florida is an amazing place to go!! When couples ask me why I love photographing elopements here, I always come back to the same thing: freedom. So I wanted to share 5 Reasons to Elope in Florida.

Because it really is such a special location. Especially if you want a calm, honest and grounding day. If you value intimacy over production, FL gives you room to breathe. You can choose connection and slowing down. It's all about being present with each other in beautiful locations.

Here’s what I mean:

5 Reasons to Elope in Florida

1. So many landscapes, all in one state. You can exchange vows barefoot on a quiet beach at sunrise. Or you can wander through a historic downtown with brick streets and old architecture. Some couples say yes to a lush spring, or a sailboat at sunset. We’ve also got a wildlife preserve! Hell, even a theme park if that feels like you! (Please hire me if you do that!) FL holds so many options. Your day can feel like you.

2. Beautiful weather almost year round. Winter elopement? Too easy in our sunny state.

Spring garden ceremony? You’re going to have the MOST GORGEOUS blooms.

Even in the warmer months, the sunrise and sunset light are incredible. And with water everywhere, you can accommodate the heat. Essentially: there is flexibility here. That means less stress and more ease.

Which is kinda the whole point of eloping, you know?

3. It’s easy for your people to join.

Flights are often affordable here, and the cities are very drivable. There are plenty of places to stay and incredible food to share afterward. You can keep it just the two of you or invite a small circle. Either way, it feels doable. While we all love the great escapes to Italian countrysides, sometimes staying stateside can be the more accessible option. And that doesn’t have to mean sacrificing beauty or presence. As a Florida wedding photographer, I’ve gotten the privilege of witnessing the most gorgeous celebrations here.

4. Options for every budget.

From luxury beachfront resorts to cozy Airbnbs and simple courthouse vows, Florida works for all kinds of couples. You do not have to overspend to create something meaningful. Intention matters more than production. And sometimes you want to prioritize other financial decisions, and that’s okay!

5. Built in adventure.

I’m forever in love with the adventure in FL. You can plan a boat ride, explore nature trails, stroll through nightlife, or eat tacos by the water while the sun sets. Your elopement can feel like a date. (Just a really important one). There’s just so much to do here, and we really value magical moments. So adventure literally awaits if you elope here!

If you’re reading these 5 reasons to elope in Florida, I hope you feel some relief and possibility.

I’m rooting for you. I want you to have the best day of your life when you say ‘I Do’.

Because here’s the truth: eloping here is not about escaping. It is about choosing.

Choosing presence and intimacy. This is a day that reflects your story instead of someone else’s expectations.

If you are dreaming about a wedding day that feels calm and grounded, Florida might be your place. And if you are looking for gentle guidance along the way, I am here for that too. I’d love to help you make it happen.

Because at the heart of it, all of these 5 reasons to elope in Florida are really about one thing: the freedom to begin your marriage in a way that feels authentic to you
